Five generations. One shoreline. A village built by hand.
In 1958, my grandparents purchased their first piece of land on Clearwater Lake. It wasn’t much to look at then - just shoreline, forest, and the kind of stillness that makes you want to stay.
Over the decades, our family grew into this place. We learned to swim here, to waterski, to sit around a campfire and listen to the loons. Five generations built their summers around this stretch of lake. The photo albums tell the story better than I can, but the feeling of this land — that’s something you carry with you.
When the pandemic brought everything to a standstill, we found ourselves here with time and tools and an idea we couldn’t shake. We landscaped, remodeled, moved an existing cottage further onto the property, and built our kids a small place of their own. What happened next surprised us. People started asking if they could rent.
Being a marine contractor by trade, building comes naturally. So we built more. Each tiny home was designed with care — compact, efficient, modern, but always connected to the land. We restored an old yacht for the marina for guests to stay in (though it’s since been sold). We added private hot tubs to every unit. We built a wood-burning sauna and started developing a Nordic spa circuit. Pulse Wellness Studio came next — a space for movement and mindful practice, right here on the property.
What started as one cabin is now five unique homes: The Beach House, The Boathouse, The Nook, The Nest, and The Lakehouse — each with its own character and all of them just steps from the water. We’ve gone from a family retreat to an Airbnb Superhost with a perfect 5.0 rating and guests who come back season after season.
It won’t stop here. We’re always imagining the next thing. But the core of what we’re building hasn’t changed since 1958: a place where people come to the lake and leave feeling different than when they arrived.
Welcome to our family’s Tiny Village.
